NATO went thought two courses with different objectives and mission in the Cold War and the post-Cold War periods from one of „confrontation with former Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact” tot hat of „integration of former Warsaw Pact countries”, a reflection of the profound changes of world situation and international relations in the second half of the 20th century. In 2008, NATO could improve his strategic concept according to the reality of international relation, mainly by focus on the Black Sea Region and energy corridors.
