Summary/Abstract: Burnout syndrome is an often discussed current topic that relates to people particularly in helping professions. The study’s aim is to point out reasons, coping and prevention of burnout in terms of person’s characteristics as described by a current psychology. We focus particular attention at structure of narcissistic personality and so called helper syndrome as it is described by W. Shmidbauer, as well we mention so called A-type behaviour and D-type behaviour. From person’s characteristics that assist to cope and prevent burnout syndrome we point out the B-type behaviour, a resistance in term of resilience, sense of coherence and personal hardiness, the positive self esteem, gratitude and hope.
