Summary/Abstract: The article describes ethnoorganologic peculiarities of Hutsul fife that has remained till nowadays, and analyses the ways of its penetration into the territory of Ukrainian Carpathians, as well as he functional role of the instrument in Hutsuls’ traditional culture. The new aspect of this research is presentation of facts that gives possibility to voice assumption about an existence of local bagpipe tradition in the Transcarpathia.
