Summary/Abstract: The paper identifies the main features of the long aesthetic flow of music of the ХХ century – neo-folklorism, traced the path of its development in the musical culture of different countries. Neofolklorism seen as a way to upgrade the creative principles of musical thought and tonal organization in the composer’s works in the context of content and style of the musical culture of Ukraine the second half of the XX – the beginning of the ХХІ century.
