Summary/Abstract: The principal objective of the present article has been to explore if incorporating contextualization activities into teaching unfamiliar words in teaching English as a foreign language is conducive to students’ vocabulary expansion and refining their word knowledge. The paper aims to supply an insightful analysis of the action research study undertaken by the present writer as well as a report on its findings. The major goal of the study was to examine the value of context-based instruction as well as activities employed for the purpose of the students’ vocabulary development. The results obtained from the research revealed that the contextualization is not only a beneficial tool for enhancing the students’ vocabulary growth and consolidation, but a relevant motivating factor as well.
