Summary/Abstract: In the proposed article are allocated trends of popularization historical knowledge of the famous Ukrainian scientist I.P. Krypyakevych. The features and the role of historical fiction discovered in scientific and pedagogical heritage historian. Series of works were analyzed: "Little History of Ukraine", "History of Ukraine for the people", "History of Ukraine. Princes and the Cossack era," representing fiction as a form of promotion of historical knowledge.
