Summary/Abstract: In this article the art dolls regaroled as an artistic phenomenon. A mainstream phenomenon in the doll's social and cultural space of Ukraine is focused. Contradictions in processes of design the art dolls in modern Ukraine are revealed using of terms "doll" and "author doll" in the works of scholars is analyzed. In conclusions necessity of study of the art history dolls is shown.
