Summary/Abstract: Early artistic and aesthetic pluralism is not an accidental phenomenon in Polish aesthetictheories. This article shows its nineteenth and twentieth century origins and varioustheoretical considerations, and brings to the foreground the philosophical motifsentangled in the historical events of Poland. Cited documentary material focuses ontwo selected topics. They are: the philosophized version of history, in particular themulticultural history of aesthetics (Władysław Tatarkiewicz) and the extended categorizationof the active site of subjectivity (Roman Ingarden).
