Summary/Abstract: The director’s creativity arises in dramatic art of Ukraine in the 80 years of the ХІХ century, the period of active combat of the theater figures for national original theater, which was led by the creative theater company "theater of the luminaries" and cherished the beginning of truly birth of the Ukrainian art. The article reviews the main achievements of the director's creative arts venue in Ukraine during that period of time.
