PRE-SERVICE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY TEACHERS WITH FOREIGN LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE IN CONTEXT OF EUROPEAN REQUIREMENTS

Summary/Abstract: The article presents an overview of the professional development of future teachers of technology with foreign language knowledge in the context of European requirements and reveals some general tendencies which can help to raise the level of the formation of professional competence in the area of foreign language teaching. The authors analyses the main constituents of effective pre-service teacher training with due regard for the recommendations of the European Council and contemporary pedagogical research. They suggest a four-module model of organizing the learning process in relation to the peculiarities of professional knowledge and skills necessary and sufficient for working on the primary, basic and senior school levels.
