Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present selected psychosocial deficits and resources of people serving imprisonment in the following areas: feeling of coherence, ego resilience, depression, fear, curiosity, anger, worry, social support, quality of life, intensity of religious attitude, religious and non-religious ways of dealing with stress. The analysis of the obtained results showed that persons deprived of their liberty experience significantly lower social support in its informational, instrumental, appreciative and emotional aspects in comparison with the control group.
