Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the survey of phraseological units of nonverbal display of emotions with implicit connotation in German media language. The German phraseological units describing the non-verbal expression of emotions such as fear, shame, anger were separated and divided into two groups with inner and outward display of emotions. The implicit technique of explanation of the actual phraseological meaning was analyzed and compared with connotation. The information about implicit connotation of phraseological units was received from their content or the text use. Two groups of phraseological units were selected and different lexicographical sources and German newspaper articles analyzed.
