Summary/Abstract: The problem of shaping civil society affects many areas of life. Very important space in which this activity is particularly visible are the cities. The emergence of urban movements is connected with the desire to participate in civic life, to influence the shape of one’s own environment both in terms of urban and socio-political. Urban movements have become actors of social life in many cases becoming actors of political life. The voice of support for mayors or city mayors often determines their choice. In Poland, the place of events organizes congresses, creates “urban theses” or organizes common facilities (The Urban Movement Agreement), starting in the local elections. They are an important part of the political scene.
