Summary/Abstract: It has been widely agreed and proved that writing is the most difficult skill for language instructors to teach and for L2 learners to master, being even referred at as the “ Cinderella of the four skills2”. The teaching-learning process becomes even more difficult when the language instructor has to deal with a mixed-ability class. The purpose of our paper is to provide an example of how this challenge can be overcome in the Business English class by means of the genre-based approach to writing.
