Summary/Abstract: Form is the essence of all the arts. Starting from the term kalokagathia and techne by Aristotle, through Kant’s aesthetics, up to Derrida’s deconstruction and the relational aesthetics of Deleuze and Badiou theoretically it has been determined that in the artwork, form is more important than anything else. Expressed through synonyms such as structure, composition, symmetry, harmony, perfection, form is in the constructive function of harmony; the aesthetic idea, in a more specific way, is universal harmony. The problems of form begin with the notion of Plato’s eidos. According to Plato, eidos is the idea itself as there can be no split between form and idea. The idea is the very form in itself, i.e., the occurrence.
