Summary/Abstract: The presents presents a preview of the Prlichev’s translation of ancient literature that was published in the 20th century. The research shows that this corpus of literary texts has not been fully studied, despite it being a vastly researched topic within Macedonian literary science. In this regard, attention is given to the unpublished edition of several translations of Homer’s The Iliad. This study, although it remained a “work in progress” for more than fifty years, is considered today a rare example of a comparative study of literary translations in the Macedonian cultural milieu, due to its methodological conception, literary-critical orientation, and interpretive model. Together with the publication and interpretation of the other Prlichev translations from ancient literature (The Odyssey and The Hymn to Demeter by Callimachus), it invites a new theoretical re-thinking for it encourages the necessity for further philological commentary.
