Summary/Abstract: In several PISA reports one can see outlined criteria of successful schools and the ways in which social background effects can be overcome. Based on PISA reports, one can get a detailed picture of the school integration of migrants’ children and also the factors which have an impact on their educational outcomes. It is important to note here that, based on PISA results, there are no detailed analyses relating to non-migrant or native national minorities. In some countries, assessment results are presented following on from (regional) tests in the minority language, yet a comprehensive analysis of native national minorities educational outcomes has yet to be done. This paper tries to argue that PISA can, theoretically, be a tool providing pieces of information regarding minority education. However, many countries with a significant minority population do not use PISA to assess the achievement of linguistic minority schools or students.
