The media paratext between sign arbitrariness and language reality

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we intend to analyse the paratextual elements in press, having as a starting point the sign arbitrary theory and the reality designed by language (linguistic reality); we shall try at the same time to underline the methodological and metalinguistic convergences between Discourse Analysis and Textual Linguistics. The paratextual level represents a particular type of dis-course which is built and rebuilt according to the communicative needs.
