Summary/Abstract: In our research we mainly used the method of mixed (semi-structured) interviews. This method enabled us to receive answers to our questions prepared beforehand, but, at the same time, it also allowed respondents to express themselves freely. We examined four issues: 1. Are support groups effective for those struggling with alcohol problems? 2. What do the participants (clients) think makes support groups effective? 3. What do the participants think are the benefits of the group? 4. Do the participants consider regular appearance to be important from the point of view of their recovery?
