Summary/Abstract: Defamation harms the dignity of a man which is protected by the article 212 of the Penal Code, as well as the Civil Code, because dignity as a good name belongs to the personality rights. Defamation, or slander, is reduced to “raising” or “spreading” allegation. Therefore, the perpetrator of a crime, a journalist, may be the creator of the defamatory content or can duplicate the allegations which was previously raised by someone else. The allegations concern conduct or property; their truthfulness must be judged by the prism of objective criteria.
