Summary/Abstract: The author has analyzed causes of insufficient competitiveness of Ukrainian commodities in international markets. Peculiarities of the structure of foreign trade operations between Ukraine and the EU and their dynamics have been researched. The author has determined advantages of trade in the EU market compared to the Eurasian Customs Union. Directions of optimization of the export and import structure have been substantiated.
