Summary/Abstract: The article investigates and further develops Newton’s hypothesis about the origin of inertial forces. For this purpose the classic interpretation of light aberration phenomenon and the Lorentz — FitzGerald hypothesis — proposed to explain the negative result of the Michelson — Morley experiment — is used and a comparison is made between electromagnetic phenomena — particularly, self-induction and an inertial force generated with a change in velocity of a moving physical body. The concepts not only prove that space has physical properties affecting the movement of bodies but that the latter also affect the physical properties of space. Formulas for the mechanics of high velocity and a further development of Newton’s gravity law were derived based on these fundamental concepts. The findings are applied to cosmology and prove the stationary state of the ideally uniform and isotropic infinite Universe.
