Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted to the study of the issue in Bessarabia, during the period 1830-1853, of the regular Russian troops. We can mention that between 1830 and 1853 Bessarabia remained an important part of the Russian military mechanism. Throughout the period under investigation, at least one infantry division was deployed. The objective analysis of the deployment of the imperial troops on the territory of Bessarabia shows that the pressure exerted by the military structures on the population of Bessarabia has dropped over the years practically twice, from 45 thousand people in the years 1829-1831 to about 20 thousand people in 1853. This process is due not only to the concern of the Tsarist authorities with the local people but to the optimization of the state of the military units in general.
