Summary/Abstract: This article presents an African view of the world portrayed in the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Africae munus. The document is the result of the second Synod for Africa (2009). The theme of the Synod was the role of the Church in the service of reconciliation, justice and peace. African vision of life consists of the painful problems of the continent and hopeful situation. A characteristic feature of this vision is a holistic look at the man and the world, “as something that embrances and includes ancestors, the living and those yet to be born, the whole of creation and all beings: those that speak and those that are mute, those that think and those lacking thought. The visible and invisible universe” (AM 69). The value of life and a deep sense of the sacred are often confronted with a lack of reconciliation, justice and peace on the African continent.
