Summary/Abstract: The article describes the characteristics of the Swiss legal system and the determining characteristics of the legal basis for setting up a business in three different forms – sole proprietorship, joint-stock company and limited liability companies. The author identifies some of the formal requirements as to the status of citizenship or residence, as well as the necessary steps to make the registration.
