Summary/Abstract: The article considers the main directions and forms of cooperation between Great Britain and West Germany in the security policy in 1979–1985. Selecting the time frame of research is based on the important international events which had a significant influence on the formation of the military-political doctrines and cooperation between West countries, including the UK and West Germany. Such events included the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan (1979) and the beginning of the adjustment policies and the formation of a “new political thinking” in the USSR (1985).
