Summary/Abstract: Alaturi de alte organizatii ale societatii contemporane, structurile infodocumentare au resimtit si ele schimbarile pe care le-a generat Economia Cunoasterii. Bibliotecile au trebuit sa se adapteze la aceste modificari, sa raspunda la provocarile Erei Informationale si sa evolueze din institutii care conserva si ofera accesul la un patrimoniu, în elemente ale unui depozit global al cunoasterii. Managementul cunoasterii, un concept cheie în dezvoltarea organizatiilor, o disciplina manageriala noua care urmareste asigurarea succesului organizatiei printr-o buna dinamizare a cunostintelor de care aceasta dispune, a devenit si pentru structurile infodocumentare o problema importanta. Bibliotecile si bibliotecarii trebuie sa fie mediatori în Societatea Cunoasterii si sa sprijine utilizatorii din toate domeniile de activitate. Besides other organizations of the contemporary society, the infodocumentary structures have experienced too the changes which the Knowledge Economy generated. The libraries must adapt to these changes, meet the challenges of the Information Era and evolve from institutions which preserve and give access to a patrimony in a part of a global warehouse of knowledge. The knowledge management, a key concept in the development of the organizations, a new managerial discipline which aims at ensuring the success of the organization through a good dynamism of the knowledge this one has, has become for the infodocumentary structures too an important problem. The libraries and the librarians must be mediators in the Knowledge Society and support the users in all fields of activity.
