Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to point to different dimensions of modernizationprocesses, which are significant for sustainable development of agriculture. The following arediscussed: endogenization of agriculture development, ecologization, diffusion of knowledgeand information, conditions of re-rooting agriculture in the territory. The significance ofinstitutional conditionings in initiating modernization paths are indicated, as well. Theoreticalanalyses are illustrated by conclusions from the research which was carried out with the useof questionnaire-based interviews in commercial agricultural holdings in Opole region. Theyconfirm the fact that the range and speed of modernization changes in individual dimensionscan basically be different, while the sustainable development of agriculture is conditionedterritorially.The aim of the paper is to point to different dimensions of modernization processes, which are significant for sustainable development of agriculture.
