Summary/Abstract: The author attempts to answer the question whether Wrocław is the city resilient to crises. Therefore, the idea of urban resilience, its dimensions, features and determinants were presented, and then the specificity of the urban unit’s functioning in the (post)critical milieu was characterized. The research based on the analysis of statistical data and literature studies allowed for identifying the components of resilience of Wrocław: high level of social capital and networks of informal cooperation, quality of institutions, speed of decision making, macroeconomic stability, low unemployment rate, high qualifications of the population, modern infrastructure, business environment institutions (entrepreneurship incubators, science and technology parks), access to financial capital and anticipatory policy. Wrocław’s problems that require a holistic approach include improving public safety, modernizing public transport and increasing social activity of the population.
