Summary/Abstract: The beginning of scientific reflection on plagiarism is in the area of law. Today, however, there are discussions about whether legal methods are appropriate to adequately talk about plagiarism. We see several problems. One of them is the discussion of what kind of rights the problem of plagiarism belongs to. A serious mistake that can be seen in juridical analyzes of plagiarism is the attempt to talk about it in terms of the right of ownership instead of copyright. Also, some non-legal definitions of plagiarism are incorrect. On the basis of the conducted research, we propose a new info-ethical definition of the scientific plagiarism, which emphasizes the intention of misleading the issue of an authorship and an originality of the presented scientific work.
