Summary/Abstract: Neven Iliev, researcher and specialist from the Historical Museum, Vidin, discusses one of this Danube town's most interesting historical spots: the Library of Osman Pazvantoglu, the rebellious Ottoman governor of Vidin district in the late 18th and early 19th century. The library building preserved next to Pazvantoglu's mosque still poses many questions: what was the purpose of the library in the past, what was the fate of the books it contained, what is the meaning of the place today.
