Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to asses changes in the labour productivity in agriculture and national economy of EU countries. The changes in the level of EU labor differentiation have also been examined. The time frame of the analysis based on Eurostat data covers the years of 2000-2016. The comparative analyzes indicate the increasing trend linked with analyzed indicators across EU countries. The rate of labor productivity growth in agriculture in the predominant part of the country was higher than in other sectors of the economy. The decline in the share of the agricultural sector in total employment was observed, particularly among the new EU Member States. At the same time, in many of them, relatively high rates of growth of labor productivity in agriculture and the economy were observed. It contributed to reducing the scale of the differences between EU countries in this regard. Nonetheless, disparities, especially between the new Member States and the EU-15 countries, are still significant.
