Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the results of the Presidential elections in France in 2017. The author tries to explain both the causes of the victory of the independent candidate Emanuel Macron, through the presentation of presidential candidates, and the issues that prevailed in the campaign. On the wave of victory in the presidential election, the radical change in the party spectrum in the benches of the National Assembly is underlined. The paper highlights the multiple consequences that the election results may have in further political processes within France as well as the entire European Union. At the end, the author analyzes whether the new „Jupiter“ renews the degolithic spirit of the French President.
