Analysis of insurance crime in Poland in the years 2012-2015

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to present the problem of insurance crime in Poland, as well as to seek answers to the questions: are there effective methods of eliminating in- surance crime and which areas of insurance activity are involved in insurance crime? The introduction explains what insurance and insurance crime are. The following section presents methods of limiting insurance crimes used by insurance companies, examples of fraud mechanisms used by insurance fraudsters, and analyzes statistics on disclosed crimes related to insurance companies’ activities in 2012-2015. The amount and the number of crimes revealed increase every year. This proves that insurance companies have perceived the problem of insurance crime and are fighting it increasingly. The applications were completed.
