Archival registry and library – an example based on the Archives of Serbia practise

Summary/Abstract: This work represents a review of regulatory framework for the arrangement of registries as institutions under in the jurisdiction of the archives. Generally, the protection of archive material of creators, according to positive regulations of the Republic of Serbia, as well as methods for archival orderliness and availability are presented. The main function of special, archival libraries is public interest and attention of researchers. The activities of archival libraries include: purchase, exchange, cataloging, preservation and protection of library and registry materials, as well as relevant archival documents; the creation of newsletters, catalogs, bibliographies, electronic databases and other information resources, and the creation of electronic information resources, thus helping users in the selection and use of materials, preparation and organization of various cultural materials, and keeping records and statistics about users.
