Cultural and educational programs for persons with disabilities in the belgrade city library

Summary/Abstract: Persons with disabilities are excluded, completely or partially, from the social system and in the future efforts should be made for their integration into society. By presenting programmatic activities intended for persons with disabilities in the Belgrade City Library Network, the intention was to promote examples of good library practice, innovative and quality ways of working with users, and most importantly, to highlight that culture is not a luxury, but a real need of disabled people. Programs intended for this population group have not only cultural, but also humane and social dimensions, because in this way a library is helping the disabled to be successfully integrated into society.
