Summary/Abstract: Articolul conține o succintă prezentare a Oficiului de Stat pentru Invenții și Mărci, a sistemului Protecției Proprietății Industriale în România și în lume și a istoriei acestui domeniu în România. Sunt definite obiectele de proprietate industrială - brevetele de invenție, mărcile de fabrică și de comerț, desenele âși modelele şi condițiile necesare de obținere a drepturilor exclusive asupra acestora. Este descrisă Biblioteca Oficiului, care funcționează ca bibliotecă specializată de proprietate industrială, fiind adaptată, din toate punctele de vedere, necesităţilor acestui domeniu complex. The article contains a succinct presentation of The State Office for Inventions and Trademarks, the tutelary organism of The Library of the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks, The Industrial Property Protection system in Romania and worldwide and the history of this field in Romania. There are defined the objects of industrial property - patents of invention, trade marks and factory marks, industrial designs and the required conditions for obtaining the exclusive rights on the same. It is described the Library of the Office which operates as a library specialized in industrial property, it being adapted to the requirements of this complex field, from all points of view.
