Summary/Abstract: This article considers ICTs and the related Smart Sustainable city concept as tools to overcome urban challenges of the 21st century. The aim is to investigate different approaches applied to measuring “Smartness” and “Sustainability” of cities. Using our selection model, we identified 5 specific indexes for detailed comparison along with their results, namely which cities are the smartest and the most sustainable worldwide. We have also outlined the major concerns and limitations that exist in the indexes we covered in our research.
