Summary/Abstract: Lata 90. ubiegłego wieku były okresem znacznych przemian w polskiej gospodarce. Objęły one także polskie rolnictwo, w którym zlikwidowano funkcjonujące przez ponad 40 lat PGR-y, a w ich miejsce utworzono nowe podmioty prywatne, działające na zupełnie nowych, nieznanych wcześniej zasadach. Wraz z tym, niemal z dnia na dzień, zasadniczo zmieniło się życie tysięcy ludzi, dla których PGR-y były nie tylko miejscem codziennej pracy, ale nierzadko także miejscem i sensem życia, wyznaczającym jego codzienny rytm. Artykuł podejmuje próbę wyjaśnienia procesu upadku i przejścia dwóch byłych PGR-ów – Bełdowa i Sarnowa, położonych w województwie łódzkim, w prywatne przedsiębiorstwa rolne oraz ukazania najważniejszych skutków społecznych tego procesu. W szczególności w tekście skupiono się na trzech problemach: charakterystyce i roli PGR-ów Sarnów i Bełdów w środowisku lokalnym, procesie ich przejścia w prywatne gospodarstwa rolne oraz społecznych skutkach procesu zmiany.The 90s of the XXth century were a period of considerable transformations in the Polish economy. They also included Polish agriculture, where the over 40-year-old state-owned farms were liquidated and replaced by new private entities operating on completely new, previously unknown principles. With that, almost every day, the lives of thousands of people have changed, for which the PGR was not only a place of daily work, but also often the place and meaning of life, defining its daily rhythm. This article attempts to explain the process of the collapse and transition of two former SOEs – Beams and Sarnes, located in the Lodzkie Voivodeship, into private agricultural enterprises and to show the most important social consequences of this process. In particular, the text focuses on three issues: the characteristics and role of Sarnes and Beams PGRs in the local environment, their transition to private farms and the social impact of the transformation process.
