Summary/Abstract: The remains of Indo-European spiritual culture are analyzed through the Ukrainian fairy tales texts. The Ukrainian folklore texts keep a great layer of words, reflecting Ukrainian nation’s way and simultaneously embodying the ethnical spiritual culture. Such lexicon is entwineted into archaic plots of Foreindo-European and even Protoindo-European eon. Among the multitude of Ukrainian folklore texts the remains of the reconstructed horse cult are mostly seen in Ukrainian fairy tales and less in charms. A horse is known to have a special status among Indo-Europeans, because of its importance in their economy; thus it was involved into the magical rituals and beliefs. It is concluded, that Ukrainian folklore texts quite well preserved Foreindo-European horse perception as a sacred animal, belonging both to the world of human-being and gods. The evidence of it are the textual remains of horse sacrifice rituals (Old Indian ritual ašvamedha, its coincidence with Latin caput equī).
