Summary/Abstract: Substantially each work by Stravinsky is the new special and as a rule unexpected view on the chosen genre. Not least of all it can be said about his symphonic heritage that includes about twenty works including orchestral adaptations and instrumentations of works by other composers. Only five of them are called symphonies, and each of them represents the genre in a new way demonstrating it with various perspectives: Stravinsky experiments with composition, form, type of symphonic style, thematic invention, orchestra. Genres of the middle ground interact in his works with each other, and the composer attributes the characteristic features of one of them to another one not infrequently, "argues", looks for new or vice versa the initial meaning broadening the long-held belief about genre of symphony in such way. Lately the genre of comment (by the way, existing since the ancient time) hit stride and became very popular in literature.
