Summary/Abstract: The Odessa Italian opera theatre as the unique art phenomenon in the territory of Ukraine became the object of many scientific studies attention, mainly, of regional ones, since a century before last. It is often mentioned in the contemporaries’ memoirs, literary and art works. The researchers’ interest to this topic is alive until today. Some of the plots, which are devoted to the local Italian opera of the second half 20 – the beginning 30s, have been worked out at monographic investigations of Odessa musical culture and theatre life, the history of the Odessa Opera House, and in the biographic studies dedicated to the Italian culture personality in Ukraine. Though some of directions of the Odessa Italian opera house activity have been profoundly investigated there are still unclear many problems connected with the formation of repertoire, a personal casts, and also the troupe financial support. In addition, little attention has been paid to the presentation of the local authorities efforts, particularly of the governor general M.Vorontsov’s ones, on the everyday life improvement and creation of the conditions for the actors’ and musicians’ successful professional activities. The Italian opera significance for Odessa cultural contacts development with the Apennines musical culture centres has not completely investigated.
