Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is (1) to show the directions of regional energy development improving the quality of life and (2) to identify the factors reducing the development of pro-ecological energy systems directly requiring the households’ involvement. There is presented the comparative analysis of the results of two projects dedicated to Lower Silesia called respectively: (1) “Energy development strategy of Lower Silesia by using foresight methods” which was realized in the period 2009-2011, and (2) “Modelling prosumers’ behaviour on the energy market” which has been conducted since 2014 and it is funded by the NCN (National Centre of Science). Basing on the results of this project there were selected the most important Delphi theses (e.g. technologies and actions) for the improvement of the quality of life. They are connected with, inter alia, the development of dissipated RES, the segregation of garbage, and the improvement of energy efficiency at the consumption level. The results of the second project allowed us to point out the key pro-ecological behaviors of electricity consumers, and to state that the most important obstacles to the implementation of the RES are financial limitations and households’ attitudes.
