Industrial Image of Kharkov Avant-garde in the 1920s

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to social transformation of artistic life of Kharkov of 1920s and futurism, as main express of process of updating of culture. The feature of development of futurism is marked is active voice in creation of productive art. It is shown, as a process of industrialization and urbanization formed new aesthetic values and concepts qualitatively. A. Gastev and V. Rozhitsin stand out among the futurism agitators and figures of the Proletcult, their work period in Kharkov is evaluated. It was discovered that in the history of artistic culture of Ukraine these names did not seem to exist. The reason for that is one – the language selection of material. It is claimed that the analysis of the avant-garde art renovation in Kharkov will be incomplete without introducing local Russian-language texts into cultural space of Ukraine. It is emphasized that the idea of approach between the creator and the life is fundamental for the movement "for materialization of art". In the period of modern art renewal this idea is particularly important. Therefore the analysis of cultural practices of the 1920s remains topical.
