Summary/Abstract: The article is based on reviews of the Kyiv Newspapers and deals with the first performances of Sibelius’music in concerts of the Kiev branch of the Russian Musical Society. These were such works as "The Swan of Tuonela", the Suite "King Christian II" and "Saga". The interpreters of Sibelius’ works in Kyiv were two outstanding conductors: Alexander Vinogradsky – the head of the Kyiv branch and Finnish composer and conductor Robert Kajanus who was invited to Kyiv to conduct the summer symphony concerts.
