Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the influence of the Czech musical school on the professional establishment of the galaxy of Ukrainian composers of the late 19th - the early 20th century, and formation of the interest in instrumental music. It describes the development of the musical culture in the East European region, enrichment of the European musical culture with the oeuvre of Ukrainian composers of the Prague period. Methodology. The methodology of the research is based on using of logical - analytical, deductive methods. This methodological approach allows to reveal and to analyze the transition from the general trends in the work of the composers of the «Prague School» to the specific characteristics in the works of each composer in order to make an inference about the mutual influence processes in the Ukrainian musical art. Scientific novelty. Scientific innovation is determined by the study of the formation processes of Ukraine musical culture in the context of its versatility. As well as the consideration of aspects that emphasize the mutual enrichment of European and Ukrainian musical culture thanks to the representatives of the Czech school of Ukrainian descent, brought up at the forefront of Western European musical traditions. Conclusions. That is why we refer to one of the specific phenomena in the cultural history of Ukraine, which is closely connected with the West Ukrainian region: «Prague school» of Ukrainian composers.
