Design thinking customized solutions used in the strategic programming of socio-economic development of a city

Summary/Abstract: Global economy meets new challenges of cities. One of contemporary determinants of the world is leading to balanced development, which influences the quality of life of population. Satisfaction of needs of citizens happens more and more often with the participation of population. It influences the effects of strategic management of the city. There is a wide range of methods and instruments of strategic management of the city socio-economic development. One of them is codecision and design thinking. This method concentrates on resolving people’s needs. The activities are conducted in a process consisting of a few stages and none of them can be ignored. An interdisciplinary design thinking team works to solve a problem. As a result of positive process of design thinking, the innovative and/or creative problem solution arises. The solution is adjusted to citizen’s needs.
