Summary/Abstract: The goal of the article is the definition of new academic qualities of choral singing a cappella. Methodology. The theoretical basis of the study are positions that are based on scientific and technical works of such choral scientists as G. Grigorieva, I. Hulesko, G. Dmytrevskyi, O. Yegorov, V. Zhivov, V. Krasnoschekov, P. Levando Yu. Paisov, L. Parkhomenko. The author uses many others related to the specific choral performance materials. The methodological basis consists of general scientific research and special scientific methods. Scientific novelty. The article and its problematic content shows the author's desire to fill "gaps" in scientific searching on the recent academic qualities of choral singing a cappella. An illustrative example of this kind of phenomena is a series of "Choral pictures" for chorus a caprella of V. Bibik. One of the main features of this work is the relevance of the sound field. The author pays great attention to the composer and resonant timbre meanings. The note complex of the timbres-phonic techniques is used by the composer in this work: choral melodic-declamation, vocalization (by loud sounds, closed mouth) choral glissando; onomatopoeic techniques (dialect at the fair, howling wind), dissonant chorus pedal-layers. The above-mentioned features means composer's expression, manifested in choral notation of this work. A specific feature is the tight weave of the deterministic and nondeterministic notation. The composer introduces scores of comments, which 'decodes' performing a particular method. An interesting example of the manifestation of new properties choral music a cappella is a piece for mixed chorus a cappella and soloists (soprano), "Goodbye, Twentieth Century" V. Muzhchylya.
