Summary/Abstract: This article examines the tendencies in the contemporary musicology, using the methods of the exact sciences, in particular, the game-theoretical laws and their extrapolation to the composer's work, the thematic development of the forms of musical composition, structural and analytical study of musical works, the study of logical and constructive principles of musical thinking. The aim of the research is to analyse the applications of the game theory in contemporary musicology. Methodology. The methodology of the research consists of using musicological, game-theoretic, system-structural methods. The noted musicological approach allows us to analyze the piano creative work of Alexander Skryabin, logic-constructive principles of his musical thinking, texture-harmonic system of the late period of the composer’s creative work. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the research consists in extrapolating of the principles of the game theory in the piano works of Al. Skryabin’s late period. Game-theoretic regularities can be traced over a long period of development of mathematics, mainly in the areas of knowledge, where the condition of uncertainty is shown. Game patterns are also detected in folk polyphony. In Ukrainian and Russian folklore, heterophonical kind of polyphony has received the greatest development, which is characterized by simultaneous combination of different variants of the same melody with vocal, instrumental or mixed performance. The main provisions of the theory of games were applied in musicology by a composer Iannis Xenakis for composing of his music. Two groups of musicians use the spontaneity in the process of performance, where each state determines the strategy of the game. In the work of contemporary composers the principles of a game are embodied in using of diversified methods of aleatoric technique, in applying of temporal and acoustic spaces, integration of free atonality with the elements of theatricality and improvisation with performing situational game. In a study of texture-harmonic system of Al. Skryabin’s late creative period the theoretical game regularities are manifested in the projection of the level of a dialogue on the causal-effective dependence, combinatorics of sound elements, manifestation of permutation.
