Summary/Abstract: The paper argues that rhetoric since its very beginning features inherent visual capacities. Therefore, it lends itself perfectly to be interpreted also in terms of virtual communication. The complementary perspectives of virtual as rhetorical and rhetoric as virtual are investigated in order to set a frame for (re)conceptualizing virtual and rhetorical.
